ā-rōh — to ascend, to rise
Your legacy deserves its next ascent.
Protecting what you built, growing what comes next
You've spent years building something real, through long days, hard decisions, and people who became more like family. Now you're starting to wonder what's next, for you and for what you've built.
We get it. At Aroh, we acquire and operate exceptional, privately-held Canadian businesses, and we come at this as operators first. We know what it takes to build something that lasts, and we don't take the privilege of carrying it forward lightly.
We're long-term owners by design, with no exit timeline and no playbook for "fixing" what isn't broken. We learn your business from the ground up, honour the relationships you've built, and grow what you started, with the same care it took to build it.
If you're exploring what's next, let's talk.
"Someone's sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago." — Warren Buffett
Our commitment to you
At Aroh, how we partner and operate matters as much as what we acquire. We show up, roll up our sleeves, and work side by side with your team to preserve and grow what you've built. That commitment rests on four principles we make to every owner we work with:
-
We say what we mean and do what we say. No games, no surprises. Just honest conversations and clear commitments from the very first meeting.
-
Every business has a story. We honour yours, protect it, and build on it with care. Never erase it.
-
Your employees, your customers, your community. They're not line items. They're the reason we show up.
-
No exit clocks. No short-term agendas. We measure success in decades, not quarters.
What makes a great fit
We're drawn to Western Canadian businesses (BC, AB, SK, MB) with staying power, the ones built on decades of doing things right, with the relationships, reputation, and results to show for it. If that sounds like what you've built, we'd love to hear from you.
These aren't hard rules, just a feel for the businesses we love. Whether you're planning for retirement, stepping back, or just exploring your options, let's find out if Aroh is the right fit.

Durable markets with room to grow
Industry agnostic, favouring established B2B sectors (e.g., manufacturing, infrastructure, building services, recurring maintenance and repair)
Large, fragmented markets with room to grow and no dominant player
Low cyclicality and limited commodity exposure
Insulated from technological disruption and shifting regulation

A track record that speaks for itself

Low capital expenditure requirements

Simple steps and lasting results, your legacy in the right hands
Selling your business is one of the most personal decisions you'll ever make. We've built a process that treats it that way: clear, respectful, and free of pressure at every step.
-
A 45-minute call to get to know each other and understand your goals. No preparation, no obligation, and everything you share stays confidential. We're genuinely eager to learn about what you've built.
Outcome: A clear sense of mutual fit and possible next steps.
-
If there's a fit, we'll ask for a few key items: recent financials and business highlights to understand your business and form an initial valuation. Everything is protected under a confidentiality agreement.
Outcome: A non-binding indication of interest (IOI). Timeline: 15 to 45 days.
-
We believe in doing business face to face. We'll come to you, meet your team, see the operation firsthand, and walk you through what comes next.
Outcome: Confirmed mutual interest and a path toward a letter of intent.
-
We'll work together to agree on a price and structure that works for everyone, exploring options like seller financing where it makes sense.
Outcome: A signed LOI and a clear roadmap for final diligence.
-
We'll bring in trusted legal and accounting advisors to support the remaining diligence. This is the most detailed stage of the process, so we keep our focus on what matters and keep communication clear and steady throughout, no surprises, no moving goalposts.
Outcome: A finalized purchase agreement and transition plan. Timeline: around 75 days.
-
We sign the final agreements, transfer funds, and mark the moment the way it deserves. Then the real work begins.
Outcome: A smooth handover and the start of the next chapter.
Meet the team
Aroh Capital Partners was founded by Cyrus Parmar, a Calgary-based M&A and value creation advisor who has spent his career guiding organizations through their most pivotal moments.
Over the past twelve years, Cyrus has worked across operations, strategy, and M&A, supporting transactions ranging from $5M to over $15B across Canada and the United States. His work spans the full arc of a deal: assessing targets through commercial and operational due diligence, executing transactions from sign to close, and driving the value creation that follows, improving profitability, strengthening performance, and building the foundations for lasting growth. Along the way, he has led integration and value creation efforts as part of the corporate development team of a global professional services firm, and built high-performing teams to carry complex transformations through to completion.
Cyrus holds an MBA from the Smith School of Business at Queen's University and a Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary. He completed the Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition Bootcamp with Venture for Canada and is a Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) candidate.
Aroh is built on commitment. Cyrus invests his own capital and partners closely with every business he acquires, for the long term. And he isn't doing this alone. Each acquisition is backed by a trusted network of experienced operators, investors, and entrepreneurs who have done this before and who share Aroh's long-term, people-first approach.
Shaped by a background in family-owned businesses and a deep respect for the people who build them, Cyrus founded Aroh to do one thing well: acquire an exceptional business, care for its people, and grow it for the years ahead.
When he's not in deal mode, you'll find him on the ice, on the golf course, or tracking down the best meal in town.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Because you'll know exactly who is stepping in. Unlike a traditional private equity firm or family office, you won't be handing your business to a faceless fund or a rotating cast of managers. You'll meet us, get to know us, and make the decision on your own terms. We move faster than institutional buyers, operate with full transparency, and bring a personal commitment that can't be replicated at scale.
-
Fairly and transparently. We use a combination of EBITDA multiple analysis and discounted cash flow valuation, taking into account the full picture: your growth trajectory, revenue quality, customer relationships, and the strength of your team. We walk you through every step of how we arrive at our number, so there are no surprises.
-
We acquire businesses using a combination of personal capital and equity from a select group of aligned co-investors, experienced operators, investors, and entrepreneurs who share our long-term, people-first philosophy. This lets us move with speed and certainty, without the constraints of a traditional fund structure.
-
They're in good hands. Our goal is to grow the business by retaining and investing in the team already in place, not to make drastic changes. We acquire businesses because they're already working well, and the people behind them are a big part of why. During diligence, we work closely with you to ensure a smooth, respectful transition for everyone.
-
We understand how important discretion is. Everything you share with us is protected under a confidentiality agreement from day one, and we will not reach out to your employees, customers, or suppliers without your explicit permission.
-
Absolutely. You may choose to retain a minority stake, or stay on through a board seat or advisory role, contributing your insight to the company's continued success. And if you'd prefer a clean exit, we fully support that too. We build the structure around what works for you.
-
From first conversation to close, the process typically takes three to five months. We move efficiently and keep communication clear at every step, and we'll always work at a pace that feels right for you.
-
That's completely fine. Some of the best partnerships start with a conversation years before anyone is ready to move. If you're just beginning to think about your options, we're happy to connect, stay in touch, and be a resource whenever the time is right. No pressure, no timeline.
If you're thinking about what's next, we'd love to connect
Whether you're ready to explore a sale, just curious about the process, or know someone who might be, we'd be privileged to start a confidential conversation. No pressure, no obligation, and no need to have it all figured out first.
Tell us a little about you and your business, and we'll be in touch within one business day.
Every message goes directly to Aroh. Not a call centre, not a marketing team. Just us.
